Video: Sausage casing, sausage tie, and Play-Doh clay

Nihao is about authenticity. As a Korean visiting and living in Western countries, I often encounter racism, with assumptions that all Asians are Chinese. This parallels my perception of traditional Western foods such as sausage, once sacred generational family traditions now appropriated by corporations. The sausage casing in this work symbolizes the narrow perspectives of specific Western communities, while its interior, lined with kimchi packaging, presents my authentic Korean identity. My work implies the ignorance that not all Asians are from China.
